Focus: Scot Strems

Originally from Miami, Florida, and focuses his practice in the areas of criminal defense, traffic defense, and foreclosure defense. He Proudly serves the South Florida area as well as families facing foreclosure state wide.

Mr. Strems worked as a trial lawyer in the Miami Dade County Public Defenders Office as well as the Alachua County Public Defenders Office. He has defended thousands of criminal cases and over 1000 DUIs and has experience in both jury trials and bench trials. He understands all clients deserve personal attention and strives to keep his clients well informed throughout every stage of the litigation process.

Mr. Strems earned his Juris Doctor at the University of Miami, where he concentrated in the areas of litigation and trial advocacy. While in law school, he gained invaluable experience in the areas of personal injury, criminal prosecution, and criminal defense. Before attending law school, Mr. Strems earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, with honors, from the University of Florida, with a major in Political Science and a minor in Business Administration. During his undergraduate work, he was a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society and a member of the Executive Board for Phi Alpha Delta, a Pre-Law Fraternity.

Scot Strems, Esq. is licensed to practice in all Florida state courts and the United States District Courts for the southern and middle districts of Florida, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.

Focus: Edward Tapanes

Edward Tapanes, Esq., was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and focuses his primary practice in State and Federal Criminal Defense, Commercial Litigation, Personal Injury, Contract Disputes, and Human Rights Law. Mr. Tapanes is also dedicated to assisting and representing homeowners in Foreclosure Defense and Loan Modifications throughout the state of Florida.

Mr. Tapanes began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County. As a prosecutor, he served as an Assistant Chief of the Career Criminal / Robbery Unit of the State Attorney’s Office where he prosecuted the most violent criminals accused of committing the most violent crimes. In addition, he supervised junior prosecutors in the prosecution of such cases. He ended his service to the State Attorney’s Office in the Gang Prosecution Unit where he proactively investigated and prosecuted gang related cases involving drug trafficking, conspiracy, and murder. Mr. Tapanes has tried over 80 cases in his career.

Mr. Tapanes earned his Juris Doctor degree from St. Thomas University School of Law. While in law School he received many honors such as Dean’s List, Book Awards, and was consistently recognized for his involvement in extracurricular activities. He had the privilege of serving as President of the Student Bar Association, President of the International Moot Court Board, and Article Editor for the Law School Law Review. Mr. Tapanes competed in several Moot Court Competitions including the Phillip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition where he was awarded third best oralist in the Southeast United States.

After Mr. Tapanes completed his Juris Doctor degree he return to law school and completed his Masters of Laws in Intercultural Human Rights. He then served as a founding board member of the law school Human Rights Law Review.

Prior to entering law school, Mr. Tapanes attended Florida International University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and minor in Political Science.

Mr. Tapanes is currently a member of the Florida Bar Grievance Committee (11”E”), the Cuban American Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the League of Prosecutors.

Mr. Tapanes is a member of the Florida Bar, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and the Middle District of Florida.

Focus: Denise L. Lambert of counsel

Denise L. Lambert graduated from Florida International University College of Law in 2007. Prior to law school, Denise received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida International University in Political Science and International Relations. Prior to her legal career, Denise worked as a legislative aide to the United States Congress.

Denise is admitted to The Florida Bar, United States Bankruptcy Court and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Denise is an active member of the Cuban American Bar Association and Florida International University College of Law Alumni Board. She is a fully bilingual and bicultural Spanish speaker.
